George V. Pogosov

Mr.Pogosov is the Co-Head Coach of the Stanford University Men’s and Women’s Fencing Teams. He is the Head Coach of the Cardinal Fencing Center. 
His athletic accomplishments are too numerous to mention and include 1992 Olympic Team Champion, 7 times Team World Champion, Individual Junior World Champion, Individual World Championship Silver Medalist, 1988 Olympic Team Silver Medalist, and many times World Cup Champion. He has more than 22 years of experience as a fencer and 25 years of experience as a coach. 
George has a Master’s Degree in Physical Education with a focus in Fencing from Ukrainian National University of Physical Education and Sports in Kiev.
Mr. Pogosov studied the art of fencing under David A. Tyshler (The Father of Soviet Sabre), Mihail L. Shimshovich (his first Coach), Vladimir A. Nazlymov (recognized as the Greatest Sabre Fencer of the XX Century), and Lev Kuznetsov.  
George is an expert coach in all three weapons, and easily adapts from beginners to the World Class athletes.
George has served as an International and National Referee at the most prestigious events.
Before his arrival to USA Mr. Pogosov was the Head Coach of the Ukrainian National Men’s Sabre Team (one of the strongest in the World).
Quite a few of his students have won various International, National, and NCAA medals; currently he is especially proud of two 2013 National Champions he is working with Monir Fahri and Samuel Kwong.

George and his Wife reside in Cupertino, while their Daughter is an Advertising Executive in Manhattan, NY.

Valeriy M. Naulo

Mr. Naulo is an Assistant Foil & Epee Coach of the Stanford University Men’s and Women’s Fencing Teams. He is a Foil & Epee Coach at the Cardinal Fencing Center.
Mr. Naulo has a Master’s Degree in Physical Education with focus in Fencing from the Ukrainian National University of Physical Education in Kiev. 
As an athlete he made the finals of the Ukrainian Championships four times.
Mr. Naulo considers his primary teachers the Famed Soviet Coach – Zhitnikov, and the well known Soviet & American expert Semyon Gershon.  
Mr. Naulo has coached the Ukrainian National Collegiate Team and worked at the famous Stormbringer Kiev Club. Following these prestigious positions Valeriy coached for eight years in Manhattan, NY.
Mr. Naulo has had many students reach top National and NCAA level and currently coaches fencers who have placed in Top 16 Championships - Noah Berman (Foil), Ethan Lo and Medora McCarthy (Epee).

Valeriy, his wife and his two sons reside in Santa Clara.
Grigory A. Kirienko

Mr.Kirienko is the Sabre Coach of the Cardinal Fencing Center. 
His athletic accomplishments include 1992 and 1996 Olympic Team Champion, 7 times World Champion, 2 times World Championship Silver Medalist, and many times World Cup Champion.
He has more than 25 years of experience as a fencer and 10 years of experience as a coach. 
Grigory has a Master’s Degree in Physical Education with a focus in Fencing from State Academy of Physical Training in Omsk, Russia.
Mr.Kirienko studied the art of fencing under Pavel Kondratenko (his first coach), Vladimir A. Nazlymov (recognized as the Greatest Sabre Fencer of the XX Century), Husein Ismailov and Lev Kuznetsov.
Before his arrival to USA Mr.Kirienko was the coach in Russia (Novosibirsk, Moscow) and Iran. His students have won numerous National and International tournaments. His student Pavel Bykov is World Team Campion. 
In 2012 in London, Iran team first time fence at the Olympics. Iran fencers also have won Asian Championship 2012 in individual and team tournaments.
In 2015 Grigory’s student Olga Nikitina won European and World Cadet and Junior Championships.

Grigory, his wife and their daughter reside in San Jose.



Olga A. Petrova

Mrs. Petrova is an epee coach in Cardinal Fencing Club. She has graduated National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine (NUPESU) with several diplomas – Bachelor degree of a Fencing Coach and PE Teacher, Master’s degree of a Sport Manager, and PhD. degree in Physical Education and Sport. Dissertation and eight her articles were dedicated to the study of Sport Coaches’ Training and Skill Improvement. 

Before arrival to USA Mrs. Petrova were teaching students in the University such disciplines as Youth Sport, Sport Adaptation, Athletes’ Preparation in Olympic and Professional Sport. She also occupied a position of Methodologist in the Learning Center of Coaches’ Training and Skill Improvement. 

Mrs. Petrova athletic accomplishments include 2003 team Bronze at Junior European Championship in Porec, Croatia. Under the guidance of her primary team of coaches Dmytro and Tatyana Reyzlin, Olena Marko, Mrs. Petrova was a winner and a several times medalist of Cadet and Junior World Cups, National Championships.

In Cardinal Fencing Club Mrs. Petrova teaches students of all ages from 6 y.o to Juniors. A lot of her students are medalists of local, regional and National competitions.

Mrs. Petrova, her husband, daughter and son reside in Los Gatos.
